Refunds or exchanges can only be made to the original purchaser and will be processed within 28 days of notification. When returning goods to Hessonite, we recommend you obtain a proof of posting to enable tracking should your parcel not reach us. We cannot take responsibility for products lost or damaged during their return to Hessonite. Whenever possible, return the product to us in its original packaging.

If you do have to return any item to us, please send it by recorded delivery to - Hessonite, The Firs, The Common, Shelton, Norwich, Norfolk NR15 2SJ U.K.

Any goods sent to you from Hessonite are insured during transit only.

All leather products from Hessonite are sold with a care guide which should be read, and kept for future reference. If you have lost your care guide see the Advice page on our website or request a paper copy - see the Contact Us page for details.

All products remain the property of Hessonite until full payment is received.

All products are sold for showing purposes only, and are not suitable for general dog walking. Products are for dog use only.

All products are supplied with a one year guarantee against defects in workmanship. This warranty is effective only if the product has been cared for according to the care instructions given in our Care Guide and used for the purposes outlined above. The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear. With natural leather products, some wearing of the surface appearance may be evident after a short time. This does not affect the strength or operation of the item. Use Hessonite Leather Conditioner to extend the life of your leather product.

Please try to ensure that leads are the correct size when ordering. Check out the guidelines for "how to choose the right length of lead" on our Advice page. If you are in any doubt please phone for advice. We are unable to refund the cost of postage if orders are returned to us for reasons such as 'customer change of mind', 'incorrect size or colour ordered', etc.

Placement of orders with Hessonite are acceptance of these terms.

Products are usually dispatched within 14 days if ordered online. If you order by phone you will be given an approximate delivery date. We encourage people to order using our online ordering system as payment is simple and orders are processed automatically. If you ask for a bespoke item, we will give you an approximate delivery date at time of order.

Hessonite promise to keep you informed if there is any unforeseen delay in getting your order to you.

Privacy Statement

Hessonite promises to ensure the privacy of customer information.

We comply with the requirements of the UK Data Protection Act relating to handling of personal information. All information collected by us is used solely by Hessonite and will not be passed on, distributed, sold, rented, traded or used for any purposes other than for the reason you supplied it – unless required to do so by law.

Your name and address details are recorded safely by Hessonite. We maintain a record of your order details (name, address, product type, colour and length, quantity). We do this only to help you with future enquiries. This information is never shared with others, unless required to do so by law.

Payment details, such as credit card numbers, which you supply to PayPal during an online transaction, are not passed onto Hessonite. For online transactions we never see your payment card details.

When customers provide card details over the telephone, Hessonite uses the information solely for the purpose of processing that transaction. We do not store your payment details. Each time a customer places a telephone order, payment details need to be supplied on each occasion. For security, we recommend you do not provide us with your payment card details in any written format (email, fax, letter).
